Energy Medicine is a term used for holistic healing therapies that are focused on manipulating "life force" to bring about balance and wellness. Some energy based modalitys involve hands on and hands off techniques such as: Reiki, Remote Healing and Qigong Therapies. These are non-invasive touch or hands-off therapies to move energy in the body. The specific areas of energy work are the aura, chakra centers and manipulation of the acupressure points.

Reiki is believed to be many centuries old... It was brought to our attention in 1922 by Japanese Christian teacher Dr. Mikao Usui. The benefits of Reiki include healing through the Universal Life force known as spiritual energy. This energy is used to release blocked energy from the recipient’s body. Reiki energy can be used for self healing as well. This energy is beneficial for pain management, stress management, illness, and diseases. Using the healing power of Reiki requires an attunement which is passed on by a Reiki Master.  This healing attunement passes through the hands into the client’s energy centers most commonly known as the Chakras. The energy has its own innate wisdom to guide itself to the places the body needs the energy the most...  It is not known to deplete energy from the practitioner, giving both the client and the practitioner the benefits of healing...

Qigong healing is a Chinese art of moving the life force energies through circular movements utilizing spiritual disciplines, healing therapies and martial arts.
